Deuteronom 8

1. Sa paziti si sa impliniti toate poruncile pe cari vi le dau astazi, ca sa traiti, sa va inmultiti, si sa intrati in stapanirea tarii pe care a jurat Domnul ca o va da parintilor vostri.

2. Adu-ti aminte de tot drumul pe care te-a calauzit Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, in timpul acestor patruzeci de ani in pustie, ca sa te smereasca si sa te incerce, ca sa-ti cunoasca pornirile inimii si sa vada daca ai sa pazesti sau nu poruncile Lui.

3. Astfel, te-a smerit, te-a lasat sa suferi de foame, si te-a hranit cu mana, pe care nici tu n'o cunosteai si nici parintii tai n'o cunoscusera, ca sa te invete ca omul nu traieste numai cu pane, ci cu orice lucru care iese din gura Domnului traieste omul.

4. Haina nu ti s-a invechit pe tine, si nici nu ti s-au umflat picioarele, in timpul acestor patruzeci de ani.

5. Recunoaste dar in inima ta ca Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, te mustra cum mustra un om pe copilul lui.

6. Sa pazesti poruncile Domnului, Dumnezeului tau, ca sa umbli in caile Lui, si sa te temi de El.

7. Caci Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, are sa te duca intr'o tara buna, tara cu paraie de apa, cu izvoare si cu lacuri, cari tasnesc din vai si munti;

8. tara cu grau, cu orz, cu vii, cu smochini si cu rodii; tara cu maslini si cu miere;

9. tara unde vei manca pane din belsug, unde nu vei duce lipsa de nimic; tara, ale carei petre sunt de fer, si din ai carei munti vei scoate arama.

10. Cand vei manca si te vei satura, sa binecuvantezi pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, pentru tara cea buna pe care ti-a dat-o.

11. Vezi sa nu uiti pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, pana acolo incat sa nu pazesti poruncile, randuielile si legile Lui, pe cari ti le dau azi.

12. Cand vei manca si te vei satura, cand vei zidi si vei locui in case frumoase,

13. cand vei vedea inmultindu-ti-se cirezile de boi si turmele de oi, marindu-ti-se argintul si aurul, si crescandu-ti tot ce ai,

14. ia seama sa nu ti se umfle inima de mandrie si sa nu uiti pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, care te-a scos din tara Egiptului, din casa robiei;

15. care te-a dus in acea pustie mare si grozava, unde erau serpi infocati si scorpioni, in locuri uscate si fara apa, care a facut sa-ti tasneasca apa din stanca cea mai tare,

16. si care ti-a dat sa mananci in pustie mana aceea necunoscuta de parintii tai, ca sa te smereasca si sa te incerce, si sa-ti faca bine apoi.

17. Vezi sa nu zici in inima ta: "Taria mea si puterea manii mele mi-au castigat aceste bogatii."

18. Ci adu-ti aminte de Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, caci El iti va da putere sa le castigi, ca sa intareasca legamantul incheiat cu parintii vostri prin juramant, cum face astazi.

19. Daca vei uita pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, si vei merge dupa alti dumnezei, daca le vei sluji si te vei inchina inaintea lor, va spun hotarat azi ca veti peri.

20. Veti peri ca si neamurile pe cari le-a pierdut Domnul dinaintea voastra, pentruca nu veti asculta glasul Domnului, Dumnzeului vostru.

Priveste si asculta mesajul Making and Being Made

The Bible is a very great book. It is the written witness to God's revelation of Himself in His Word: Jesus Christ. And, if you like, you can make a great deal of it.

You can speculate about it: This will make you a philosopher and people will think you are deep and very smart.
You can pontificate on it: This will make you a preacher and people will marvel at your courage and gift for oratory.
You can adulate it: This will make you its number one fan. You can display your very fine collection of its various versions all over your house.
You can attack it: This will make you a skeptic and people will admire your honest, blind determination to live in your grim, faithless little world.
You can adapt it: This will make you a youth pastor or a Christian musician or a feminist theologian or a popular author. You, too, can be the icing on a cake.
You can systematize it: This will make you a theologian and people will quote you and regard those quotes as some sort of authority.
You can criticize it: This will make you a scholar - and those who are not put off by your egg-headedness will confer on you M.A.'s and D.D.'s.
You can theorize about it: This will make you an expert in biblical slants on contemporary issues like political science, psychology, church growth, economics, sex, and marriage.
You can ponder it: This will make you a mystic and people will turn to you for spiritual advice (and from you when then get it).
You can practice it: This will make you a model citizen - a fair, generous, and righteous (if somewhat uptight) person.

Of course, what we make of the Bible will never be as great a thing as what the Bible will - if we let it - make of us. For that which is born of the flesh - our human understanding and handlings - is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit - God's revelation of Himself and the power of that revelation to enliven us - is spirit. The will of man will not ultimately prevail against the will of God. It is the will of God that we should know Him as He has revealed Himself and that will has not only survived the arrogant attacks of scientific and "enlightened" men, it has (even more miraculously) thrived in spite of our best intended, though sadly misguided, at "rightly dividing" that seamless robe of revelation.
So, let us press on with no faith in our own understanding and nothing but faith in the Truth that is too great to be diminished by our feeble minds and too great not to transform us. Salvation comes from God, not from our cleverness. The Bible is a very great book. Let us submit to it so God may do the great work of making us into a great people.

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16

Paul’s flesh had every reason to be ashamed of the Gospel he preached because it contradicted absolutely everything that was held to be true and sacred among his contemporaries.

To the Jew, the Gospel was the worst sort of blasphemy because it claimed that the Nazarene who died accursed on Calvary was the Messiah. To the Greeks, it was the worst sort of absurdity because it claimed that this Jewish Messiah was God in the flesh.

Thus Paul knew that whenever he opened his mouth to speak the Gospel he would be utterly rejected and ridiculed to scorn unless the Holy Spirit intervened and moved upon the hearts and minds of his hearers. In our day, the primitive Gospel is no less offensive, for it still contradicts every tenet or “ism” of contemporary culture - relativism, pluralism, and humanism.

It’s Not All Relative

We live in an age of Relativism- a belief system based upon the absolute certainty that there are no absolutes. We hypocritically applaud men for seeking the truth, but call for the public execution of anyone arrogant enough to believe he has found it.We live in a self-imposed Dark Age, the reason for which is clear. Natural man is a fallen creature, morally corrupt, and hellbent on autonomy (i.e. self-government). He hates God because He is righteous and hates His laws because they censure and restrict his of pretending that no such thing exists or that if it does exist, it cannot be known or have any bearing on our lives. It is never the case of a hiding God but a hiding man. The problem is not the intellect but the will. Like a man who hides his head in the sand to avoid a charging rhino, modern man denies the truth of a righteous God and His moral absolutes in hopes of quieting his conscience and putting out of mind the judgment he knows to be inevitable.
The Christian Gospel is a scandal to man and his culture because it does the one thing he most wants to avoid -

It awakens him from his self-imposed slumber to the reality of his fallenness and rebellion, and calls for him to reject autonomy and submit to God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Everyone’s Not Right

We live in an age of Pluralism – a belief system that puts an end to truth by declaring everything to be true, especially with regard to religion. It may be difficult for the contemporary Christian to comprehend, but the Christians living in the first few centuries of the faith were actually marked and persecuted as atheists. The culture surrounding them was immersed in theism. The world was filled with images of deities, and religion was a booming business. Men not only tolerated one another’s deities but also swapped and shared them. The entire religious world was going along just fine SCANDALOUS extent to suppress the truth; even to the point evil. He hates the truth because it exposes him for what he is and troubles what still remains of his conscience. Therefore, fallen man seeks to push truth, especially the truth about God, as far from him as possible. He will go to any until the Christians showed up and declared that, “gods made with hands are no gods at all.” They denied the Caesars the homage they demanded, refused to bend the knee to all other so-called gods, and confessed Jesus alone as Lord of all. The entire world looked on such jaw-dropping arrogance and reacted with fury against the Christian’s intolerable intolerance to tolerance.
This same scenario abounds in our world today. Against all logic, we are told that all views regarding religion and morality are true, no matter how radically different and contradictory they may be. The most overwhelming aspect of all this is that through the tireless efforts of the media and the academic world, this has quickly become the majority view. Nevertheless, pluralism does not address the issue or cure the malady. It only anesthetizes the patient so that he no longer feels or thinks. The Gospel is a scandal because it awakens man from his slumber and refuses to let him rest on such an illogical footing. It forces him to come to some conclusion –

“How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” The true Gospel is radically exclusive. Jesus is not “a” way, but “the” way, and all other ways are no way at all.

If Christianity would only move one small step toward a more tolerant ecumenicalism and change the definite article “the” for the indefinite article “a”, the scandal would be removed, and the world and Christianity could become friends. However,whenever this occurs, Christianity ceases to be Christianity, Christ is denied, and the world is without a Savior.

Man Is Not The Measure

We live in an age of Humanism. Over the last several decades, man has fought to purge God from his conscience and culture. He has torn down every visible altar to the “One True God” and has erected monuments to himself with the zeal of a religious fanatic. He has managed to make Himself the center, measure, and end of all things. He praises his inherent worth, demands homage to his self-esteem, and promotes his own self-fulfillment or selfrealization as the greatest good. He explains away his gnawing conscience as the remnants of an antiquated religion of guilt, and he excuses himself from any responsibility for the moral chaos surrounding him by blaming society, or at least that part of society that has not yet attained to his enlightenment. Any suggestion that his conscience might be right in its testimony against him or that he might be responsible for the almost infinite variations of maladies in the world is unthinkable. For this reason, the Gospel is a scandal to fallen man because it exposes his delusion about himself and convicts him of his fallenness and guilt.
This is the essential “first work” of the Gospel,and this is why the world so loathes true Gospel preaching. It ruins man’s party, rains on his parade, exposes his make-believe, and points out that the emperor has no clothes.

The Scriptures recognize that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a “stumbling block” and “foolishness” to all men of every age and culture.

However, to seek to remove the scandal from the message is to make void the cross of Christ and its saving power. We must understand that the Gospel is not only scandalous, but it is supposed to be! Through the foolishness of the Gospel, God has ordained to destroy the wisdom of the wise, frustrate the intelligence of the greatest minds, and humble the pride of all men. To the end that no flesh may boast in His presence, but just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Paul’s Gospel not only contradicted the religion, philosophy, and culture of the day, but it declared war on them. It refused truce or treaty with the world and would settle for nothing less than culture’s absolute surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We would do well to follow Paul’s example. We must be careful to shun every temptation to conform our Gospel to the trends of the day or the desires of carnal men. We have no right to water down its offense or civilize its radical demands in order to make it more appealing to a fallen world or carnal church members.

Our churches are filled with strategies to make them more seeker-friendly by repackaging the Gospel, removing the stumbling block, and taking the edge off the blade, so that it might be more acceptable to carnal men.

We ought to be seeker-friendly, but we ought to realize this - there is only One seeker and He is God.

If we are striving to make our church and message accommodating, let us make them accommodating to Him.

If we are striving to build a church or ministry, let us build it upon a passion to glorify God, and a desire not to offend His majesty. To the wind with what the world thinks about us.

We are not to seek the honors of earth,
but the honor of heaven should be our desire.

Intoxicarea teologilor de azi

Ascultam astăzi o predica a lui Paul Washer, şi pentru că nu depind de el in viaţă, chiar dacă imi este mentor şi ghid spiritual..am descoperit un comentariu străin..in care apărea numele acestui predicator "apus" deja din lumea fizică..dar vocea lui si mesajul lui incă dăinueşte- pentru că Dumnezeu nu doreşte să fim "văduviţi"de anumite promisiuni şi binecuvântări ce le-au avut predecesorii noştrii ,ci EL vrea ca in fiecare generaţie să Îsi coboare Slava şi Gloria printre fii şi fiicele Lui.
Paris Reidhead explică cu mulţi ani inaintea lui Washer cum teologia şi mesajul Evangheliei a inceput să fie diluată şi secularizată pentru nevoile emoţionale, pentru sine, şi pentru dorinţele umane egoiste.

Si in Regimul Comunist, până la lovitura de stat din '89 in Romania mulţi oameni s-au "pocait" doar ca să scape de iad, de flăcăriile gheenei, de teroarea si frica unui Dumnezeu tiran+dictatorial de gen Mussolini, Hitler sau Stalin. Alţii au dorit să se pocăiască doar pentru a ajunge in rai,având o motivaţie greşită, aceea de a nu-l găsi pe Dumnezeu acolo.

Prin acest scurt mesaj incisiv, dur şi real puteţi intelege cât de mult unii teologi au schimbat esenţa şi adevărata substantă a Evangheliei.Au facut acest lucru pentru ca oamenii să se simtă bine pe pămant şi să fie fericiţi.

Insă nu există fericire acolo unde nu este şi sfinţenia pură a lui Dumnezeu.Nothing is holy if God is not there - spunea G.W. North

Anul trecut mi-am dorit mult si achiziţionat o carte " CĂSĂTORIE SFÂNTĂ" in care intrebarea autorului Garry Thomas era :

"Dacă scopul cu care Dumnezeu a instituit căsătoria a fost mai degrabă de a ne face sfinţi decât de a ne face fericiţi?".

Cu alte cuvinte aceasta este ordinea principială. divină, sănătoasă, inţeleaptă şi corectă prin care Dumnezeu işi ia toată Gloria care I se cuvine şi Cinstea pe care o merită. EL ne vrea mai intâi sfinţiţi si sfinţi şi apoi fericiţi. Iar daca vom fi oameni neprihăniţi, sfinţi, curăţiti si spălaţi prin Sângele Mielului Isus ..vom fi cei mai fericiţi oameni de pe pământ...indiferent de ceea ce se intâmplă in jurul circumstanţelor noastre.( si indiferent de starea altor oameni). Insă acestea vin la "pachet", aceasta este super oferta Cerului şi a Jertfei supreme a lui Isus, sfinţire cu fericire. Nu merge una fără cealaltă, cum au incercat teologii liberali, şi cei umanisti să scoată din ecuaţia vieţii curăţia şi sfinţirea prin Domnul Isus Christos. Căci nimic nu putem noi realiza sau lupta , prin forţele si puterile noastre proprii. Doar dacă depindem de puterea Lui transformatoare putem să ne schimbăm viata. Omul nu poate face nimic prin el insuşi, prin fortele lui proprii.

"Legea umana leaga doar mainile, Legea lui Dumnezeu leaga inima".
